Hey, this past weekend was Global Game Jam! In the end, we decided to focus on more of an aesthetic experience than on game play.
So here’s our game, seasons! You’ll see a blank page at first — the file takes a bit of time to load. It’s about relaxation and the manipulation of time. Take a load off. Part of me wishes we had done something a little gamier, but we won the award for best visuals at the NYU site against some pretty stiff competition. As the pixel artist for the project, I feel pretty happy about that — but all of the programming was basically to sell the visual experience so it was definitely a group effort. I’m pretty proud of this considering it was made in fewer than 48 hours.
At some point I’d like to hold a more private game jam about our original concept, titled “I pooped yourself.”
In the meantime, we’ll continue to drop it like it’s hot.
